Sunday July 1st 1917 We slept very late but got things all done in time to go down to Otts for dinner. We spent the afternoon on the porch with him and came home at 4:30. I got us some supper and sat on the porch. weather pleasant. wrote a card to Hattie Monday July 2nd 1917 Will helped me wash some in the forenoon. I slept two hours after dinner and then ironed the things before supper. Tuesday July 3rd 1917 I was busy with the work all forenoon and went down at 2:15. Leslie did some work on my teeth. I was at Otts office to leave a couple of time deposits with which he was to buy me a $500. Street railway bond. I got me a new green silk dress at Getters and some things for the table. home at 4:30 a long letter from Lydia. Wednesday July 4th 1917 I prepared some things for dinner. But we and Ott who was out for the day were invited to eat down in the yard with the Coralville people who had a picnic there. I came up about the middle of the afternoon and wrote a long letter to Lydia. Ott came up and with Wills help picked a bucket of cherries. Ott stayed till after supper and I sent my letter by him. I got more pleasure out of the day than I thought possible. Thursday July 5th 1917 Will picked cherries all day and I seeded and put them up. It was 7:30 before I got through and I had put up 19 qts and a kettle full seeded to cook tomorrow.
