Friday July 6th 1917 Will picked till noon and he got Billy Jones to pick one small bucket after dinner. Then Billy picked two big buckets for Ott who came for them at 5:30 going back on the first car. I did not get through till after supper and I now have 35 qts with 8 qts left from another year. Saturday July 7th 1917 I was busy about the work all forenoon and crotcheted some in the afternoon and waited for the man who was to come out for some junk I had to sell. It brought $1.81. Will was down town in afternoon. The folks got back safely from their Auto trip north. Will and I spent evening on porch a letter from Lydia enclosing one from Catherine McCallister. Sunday July 8th 1917 I did some housework and talked to the home folks some at 10:40 a young man came out from town to look over it as we though we might rent it furnished if we were away. I slept most of the afternoon and spent the evening on the porch. Monday July 9th 1917 Will had got such nice fish from dinner and I invited Birdie out. We had a good visit and Rob came for her in the afternoon. Hattie had another engagement and could not come. Tuesday July 10th 1917 I was busy with work all forenoon. I did a little crotchet work in the afternoon and took a good sleep. I was on the porch most of the evening. The girls all went to an all day church meeting.
