Thursday July 26th 1917 We were home all forenoon. I was busy with the work. Rob took all three of us to North Liberty when he took Cora to her work. We rested some and got the supper over and spent the evening on the porch. Letters from Lydia with one enclosed telling Henry Flint was dead. Friday July 27th 1917 Rob took us down to Aunt Libs for the day. We had such a good visit. Hart took us up town for some things I needed. Then brought us home. Vene staid as Frank Stevens was coming for her. Saturday July 28th 1917 Will helped me do quite a washing. I rested awhile after dinner. Did some mending and slept some. I went down town from 7:15 till 8:40. The sat on the porch. weather warm. Sunday July 29th 1917 I was busy about the house all the forenoon and after looking over the papers slept till nearly supper time. Vene came before night. Spent the evening on the porch. Ott & Fannie are with William at Allentown, Penn, today as they left Friday afternoon for there. Monday July 30th 1917 I ironed in the forenoon and Vene did some wash for herself. We both slept all afternoon. We sat on the porch till late bedtime. Joe & Bertha Williams are at Hatties now. This is Ediths birthday. She would have been 36 years old
