Wednesday August 15th 1917 I felt much better today. I am working on my spread. The folks all went for a long Auto trip to Davenport & Muscatine. Weather pleasant. Fannie got home last night. a letter from Nellie. Thursday August 16th 1917 Fannie invited Will and I both down for the day. Ron came for us jist before noon. The other were all there I felt better than any time for two months. We had supper in the yard and Rob brought us home. The Miller girls coming for the ride. A very warm day. We sat on the porch till late bed time. I began to feel ill with indigestion. Friday August 17th 1917 I did not sleep well. But we did the washing. I slept awhile in afternoon but still felt badly. Did not eat any in forenoon. The girls are getting ready to go tomorrow. Saturday August 18th 1917 I felt much better this morning. I did the ironing and baked a cake. I had letters from Lydia and Lizzie Lindley. LeGrand got home last night. I went down town in the evening. rode with The Jones. got some things and home at 8:30. Sunday August 19th 1917 I was busy about the house all forenoon and read and slept in afternoon. When we were on the porch on the early evening Both families of the Byington and Whetstones came out for a call. It is mighty good to see LeGrand again.
