Wednesday September 12th 1917 Birdie spent forenoon at dentists. We were busy at home I went over at two oclock to take an Osteopathy treatment from Dr Herrington. Later went to the store and Rob brought me home. Lula was along and Cora went back with them. I had word today Will is going to the state fair tomorrow at Springfield and wont be home till Friday night. Wrote Lydia. It is 45 years today since Will married first. a year ago we started west. Thursday September 13th 1917 I was down to Fannies this morning awhile. Miss Fellman came to sew for Birdie who is suffering with her tooth and face all swollen up. After noon LeGrand took all of us but Birdie down to Florence Spencer to a pleasant afternoon party. He came for us. It was nearly seven when we got home and Birdie had a supper for them that wanted it. Paul Helmich had come home ill at noon so he had supper. Friday September 14th 1917 a card from Lydia says Will expects to come home tonight. I wrote her. The folks washed store towels this morning and I ironed them in afternoon. Birdie better and busy with sewing. The girls to PEO meeting down at Fannies. a letter from cousin Jane. Saturday September 15th 1917 It was 33 years today Bro Rob died. Will came last night and Rob brought us out home at ten oclock. we got some things at the store for dinner. I did some baking after dinner. took a sleep and after supper went in at 7:15 to take a treatment with Dr Herrington. weather warm.
