Sunday October 7th 1917 We went down to Hedges on the 11:15 car. Tishie had a big dinner. we visited till the 4:30 car. The boys gave us some of their garden stuff in the basket I took down the grapes in. Monday October 8th 1917 I was busy in the kitchen all forenoon. I baked cake & cookies and got a nice dinner. I went down at 2:15 for treatment and to do a few errands. I came home at 4:30. Sewed in evening. Tuesday October 9th 1917 I was sewing some and worked with the grapes. I went down to Hatties at 3:15. She had the Presbyterian Committee today. I helped her do up the work. come to town in the car with the young folks to come home at 8:30. I had a letter from Mattie Stitt. Wednesday October 10th 1917 I prepared some thing to take to the dinner at Lou Hughes where The Elder Daughters meet today. Hattie came too. We had a pleasant meeting. I came home at 2:30. Did some sewing and worked with the fruit. Spent evening with Frankie Pointier. Thursday October 11th 1917 It was a cold windy day. I worked in the kitchen till the middle of the afternoon. I spiced apples put p grape juice and made green tomato pickles. I read in the evening. I had a letter from Alice Condin. Friday October 12th 1917 It was cold and windy. I washed some and hung the things in the house. I out some fruit juice in the cellar. Did some mending and read the papers.
