Tuesday February 12th 1918 It was not so bright today. I did my share of the ironing and re-arranged the trunk to pack later. I finished center piece. Wednesday February 13th 1918 It was a pleasant day. So much of the snow melted. I was up town in the morning. We did not hear from the reservation and as it would delay too long to write again and The Alton Agent could telegraph we decided to go to Oklahoma City Friday if we got the berth from Kansas City. A letter from Hattie & Tishie. Thursday February 14th 1918 I went up to the depot to see about trains soon as I ate breakfast. I wrote to Hattie before noon. I packed the trunk in the afternoon. It was a very windy day and evening. We visited in the evening and went to bed early. Friday February 15th 1918 The wind had stopped blowing. we were up early and had breakfast with Vene. I put up a lunch for the day. The man took our trunk to the depot and we walked down in time for the 8:42 train to Kansas City. Not a tiresome day. After an hour wait got into the train for Okla City. I went right to bed. Saturday February 16th 1918 We had a good nights rest and a good breakfast at Guthrie. When we got to Oklahoma City we walked up to cousin Janes. They were greatly surprised to see us. I put in the time till noon looking for rooms. By afternoon we received a sleeping room from a friend of the folks here and we can get meals at The Y W C A rooms. We went up after supper. 17 years today since we moved to Coralville. I am tired and went to bed early.
