Sunday February 17th 1918 I came down to Janes about the middle of the forenoon wrote to Lydia. at two oclock we started for an Auto ride with Art McCallisters folks. It was cool but we enjoyed it We took supper at Janes and soon went to the room and to bed. Monday February 18th 1918 Aftrer we had breakfast I looked again for rooms but could not find. I went down to Janes after we had dinner. Mrs Joyce says. we can stay with her. The room is 2.50. Spent evening in room. Tuesday February 19th 1918 was busy about the room in forenoon. We get two meals at Y.C.C.A. and had a good supper over on 6th St. It was very cold today. I did a little writing. over to Janes all afternoon. Wednesday February 20th 1918 Still very cold for this place. I went down to Janes in the afternoon but made a long call at Grace first. We got some lunch at the 4th St restaurant. In room all evening. This was Fathers & Mothers wedding day. 18 years since we bought Coralville place. Thursday February 21st 1918 Was in the room all forenoon. I had letters from both Hattyie & Fannie. I wrote a coupld of letters in the afternoon when I was down at Janes. spent the evening in the room. Friday February 22nd 1918 I was in the room all forenoon after coming from breakfast. was down to Janes in afternoon. soon as we ate supper in 6th St we went down to Art McCallisters where we spent a pleasant evening. I am knitting slippers for Ella.
