Saturday February 23rdh 1918 It was as warm as summer time. I called on Mrs Phillips soon after dinner and was at Janes awhile. my feet hurt me so there is not much comfort in going on the street. Will & I spent the evening in the room. All the rest down town. Sunday February 24th 1918 A very warm day. I went to the M E Church and came down to Janes where we were to have dinner. We took a long ride in the afternoon with Art Mc-- family. We must have gone about 80 miles. We had some lunch at Janes and spent the evening there alone with her. Monday February 25th 1918 Today was very unpleasant. I was in all forenoon. Grace wanted me to go with her out to Catherine's school in the afternoon. The wind was so strong it was an ugly trip. We got back about 3:30. Will was at Janes and we stayed there till time to go to our supper. Spent the evening in the room. a letter from Tishie and Lydia. Tuesday February 26th 1918 weather very warm late in the day. I came down to Janes after dinner and was over to Grace's awhile. my feet hurt me today. I did not care to go out after supper. Wednesday February 27th 1918 I was in the room all forenoon. I had a letter from Hattie written Sunday evening. I was down to Janes in the afternoon and to see Grace she is bad of with rheumatism. We spent the evening in the room reading.
