Wednesday May 8th 1918 I slept all last night. My head feels better and life does seem worth while. I washed some more windows in the forenoon and Will put in the rest of the screens. I swept the rooms down stairs and cleaned the wood work and furniture and cleaned the shed kitchen windows. There was a hard storm before bed-time. Thursday May 9th 1918 I was busy all forenoon doing baking and the other work. I rested awhile early in afternoon. Hattie came out. It is her birthday (61). There was another storm late last night. It blew the water tank at the well away out in the yard. Rob came for his Mother. I read some. Card from Lizzie Lindley. Friday May 10th 1918 Will helped me wash before noon. He was busy about the place most of the day. I cleaned the cellar and put the fruit back on the shelves in the afternoon. weather cooler. The paper tonight tells of cyclones over the state last night. Saturday May 11th 1918 I did the ironing before dinner and put in all the afternoon fixing my linin dress and doing mending.
