Friday June 14th 1918 I did some cleaning about the house and baked bread. The afternoon was spent on the bed. I slept awhile a letter from Hattie with one she had from Louie Foltz enclosed I got my 50 lbs of sugar today to be used for canning purposes. Saturday June 15th 1918 Will went to town in the forenoon. I did a little washing. It was l;ate when we had dinner. I rested in the afternoon and we sat on the porch in the evening. Sunday June 16th 1918 It was a frightfully hot day. I did some things about the house and soon after dinner Rob & Cora were out for a call. I slept a little in afternoon hot as it was. The evening on the porch. Monday June 17th 1918 It turned cool early this morning. Will mowed the yard after picking cherries. I put up 12 qts today. I had a letter from Lizzie Lindley. I read aloud in the evening. Tuesday June 18th 1918 Very early in the morning we had a severe electrical storm with rain. Will got a few more cherries. all there was. It rained most of the day. I wrote letters in the afternoon to Hattie, Winnie, & Warner McCall. I went down town at 5:39 to do some errand. Got lunch and went to a picture show till time to come home at 8 oclock. Will had picked the last of strawberries. I prepared them and made yeast. Wednesday June 19th 1918 Will worked some in the garden. I did the regular work. crotcheted some and rested awhile. I am better than for two weeks.
