Thursday July 18th 1918 Mrs Falk and I went down at 10:01 and I left her at the Court House corner to got to the depot alone. I wanted to see Dr Smith but he was not at the office. Home at 12:15 got our dinners and finished Venes quilt around the edges. Friday July 19th 1918 Will helped me do a big washing in forenoon. I slept awhile in the afternoon. Did some negelected mending and read aloud to Will on the porch after supper. Warm. Saturday July 20th 1918 I did ironing and swept up stairs before dinner. Will to town soon after dinner. I cleaned the lower storey then rested on the bed an hour. Worked some on new sleeves for my old green silk. Read in evening. very warm. Sunday July 21st 1918 It was very warm but went to church. Mr Ellis preached an excellent sermon. Met Mrs J. Walter Lee on the street. I read aloud to Will most of the afternoon. After supper went down to Mrs Robinsons. Mrs Porntain with me. Monday July 22nd 1918 I wrote Hattie & Birdie before dinner. I slept awhile in the afternoon. After supper I went down to see Mrs Lee. she goes back to Chicago soon. Home at 9:45. very warm. we slept down stairs. Tuesday July 23rd 1918 I am 67 years old today. It was a very warm day. I did not feel well but sewed a little in the afternoon. I had a letter from Mrs Falk. Read to Will on the porch after supper. I have reason to remember this birth day from a talk I had with Will
