Wednesday July 24th 1918 I did some baking in the forenoon. There was a hard rain early in the morning. By early afternoon it had quit. very warm I sewed a little. Later wrote Laura Mason & Mrs Falk. Letter from Hattie. Thursday July 25th 1918 I went to town at 10:01. I did some errands and got a lunch in town. I got home at 1:45 and sewed a little in the afternoon. Read in the evening. Had a fine long letter from Lydia. very warm. Rob & Cora here a little while. Friday July 26th 1918 I did quite a lot of washing in the forenoon alone and after dinner cleaned the front porch. I did some mending before supper. Read aloud all evening. Saturday July 27th 1918 I ironed in the forenoon. Will got some corn for dinner. he finished mowing the yard. Did part of it yesterday. I had a good letter from Lizzie Lindley. slept a little while in afternoon. Read in evening. warm. Sunday July 28th 1918 A frightfully warm day. I did a little cooking in forenoon. Read the papers and slept in afternoon. Rob Cora Ott Fannie & Lulu Bloom were out for a call. Tishie phoned me that Mrs Smith died at nine this morning. Read to Will later. Monday July 29th 1918 weather cooler. 4 months today since we left Oklahoma City. Cora & Lulu out for some corn. I had a good letter from Hattie. I started knitting socks for Robert Polton in afternoon. Read to Will in evening.
