Monday September 2nd 1918 It was raining so it spoiled the Labor Day Celebration. Ed Koser brought the mail out. I had a letter from Hattie and Mrs Falk. She has gone home and Walter is in The Service. I finished the last block of my spread. Tuesday September 3rd 1918 I was busy about the house all forenoon. I had dinner so Rob came for me at a little after one oclock to take me to the Dr. After that I did a few errands and came home at 3:15. I read all the evening. Letter from Robert Polton. Wednesday September 4th 1918 It rained most of the night and was a cold cheerless day. We had a furnace fire. I ripped up a skirt to fix and cleaned the rooms up stairs. Thursday September 5th 1918 I read a little in the forenoon after doing the morning work. A card from Lydia. The folks from the hill came out on the car. Cora came after them. I wrote to Hattie and a card to Lydia. Friday September 6th 1918 I baked a cake and some cookies and it made me very tired. I was in bed most of the afternoon. On the porch in the evening. Saturday September 7th 1918 Will helped me wash some things in the forenoon. I rested after dinner till three oclock and got up to iron I had a very nervous spell after supper. I laid on the lounge in my room till it passed. Ida got her car [unloaded?] today.
