Friday September 13th 1918 I baked bread and put up a few pears in the forenoon. It was a pleasant day. I was out in the yard awhile where Will was at work. I read most of the evening. Saturday September 14th 1918 I went down to see The Dr at 10:01 and later to the Library. I met Ida down town. Will came at 12:00 and we both went out to Ida's to dinner. He helped her all the afternoon to put up pictures &c. Rob had taken us out and he brought us home about 4 oclock. we sat on the porch after supper. I had a letter from Lydia. Robert Patton is on The East Coast ready to go overseas. I began to knit some socks for Bud Jones today. Sunday September 15th 1918 It is 34 years today since Rob died. When I talked to Fannie this morning she told me LeGrand got home from Colorado Springs last night and William from Camp Merritt N.J. for a week. After dinner they all came out for a call but William. I wrote to Lydia before supper and read in the evening. Monday September 16th 1918 I feel pretty bad with my sore lung. I baked some cookies in the forenoon and got the dinner Fannie & William were out in the afternoon for a call. I knit some today. Will digged part of the potatoes. I read in the evening.
