Friday September 27th 1918 I baked bread and was busy in the kitchen all A M Had a letter from Hattie & Lizzie Lindley. Will went to town to A Loyalty League meeting in the afternoon. Saturday September 28th 1918 Will started out at 7 oclock for The 4th Liberty Loan Drive. I took $4.50 and he $4.00. I went down town at 10.01. Did a little shopping and went down to Hattie Daytons to The Elder Daughter party. A very nice time. Home at 4:50. Sunday September 29th 1918 Cora called this morning to know if we wanted to go to Cedar Rapids for dinner. We did and had a fine day with them. When we got back to The City. They drown out to "The West Farm". Of course it does not belong to me any longer. There is a house being built where Bro Rob thought to build. It is six months today since we left Oklahoma. Monday September 30th 1918 It was a cloudy threatening rain, such a contrast to yesterday. I knit part of the time on Bud Jones socks. Tuesday October 1st 1918 Still cloudy and did rain some. Ida was coming out but gave it up. a card from Hattie and a note from Lydia. I wrote letters all afternoon. wrote Hattie. Ella Hamilton (about Will's Aunt Marys death), Lizzie Lindley telling her we could not come west. To Jane enclosing Lydias letter and a card to Lydia. I sent them to town by Art Jones. I knit all the evening.
