Tuesday January 28th 1919 There was a birthday party at Carrie Anderson for Mary Rice. Hattie and Birdie went. Cora was here to get the dinner. I wrote Harry Moon & Martie, Mrs Watkins and in the evening a letter to Cousin Jen. Had a letter from The Reed girls. Wednesday January 29th 1919 I did a little sewing in the forenoon. Cora came for us girls in The Chandler. I spent the afternoon with Mary Woolf. The girls were at Ida Anderson to a musical. letter from Lydia. weather fine. Thursday January 30th 1919 I sewed some in the forenoon. wrote to Stella at Peoria Hattie to town in PM and Birdie and I went up to the Home and Coralville for some things I needed. we walked up from the bridge. I wrote Fannie in the evening. To Lydia also. Friday January 31st 1919 I did not get up till nearly noon. I went with Cora and she helped me selected a hat. I did an errand at The Bank and The Library and went to Dr Gardner for a treatment. LeGrand brought me home. Hattie & Cora both at a P E O meeting. Mazzie [Donvers?] died today. Saturday February 1st 1919 I got up in time for early dinner. went to town with Rob & Cora. Then out to the cemetery to look at the spot where Dear Will lies in his grave. I never cam be happy without him. I spent the afternoon with Mary Woolf. walked home. Sunday February 2nd 1919 I did not get up till noon. Hattie went to church. Birdie got the dinner. I read The Delavan paper in afternoon. I have been lonely beyond words today. What would it mean to talk to Will one moment .
