Saturday February 22nd 1919 I did not get up till noon. The folks were busy with doing the work and visiting with the boys. I had a letter from William and Hattie. I wrote her enclosing his letter and wrote Sister Ida and enclosed Hatties letter. Spent the rest of the time with the family. Sunday February 23rd 1919 The boys went home this morning. I did not get up till nearly noon. We visited in afternoon and evening. Monday February 24th 1919 Vene washed today. I read some in a book that Will began to read when he was here. a nice day. wrote Hattie. Tuesday February 25th 1919 Vene was not at all well today. I got the lunch and read some more. I had a letter from Hattie. Mary seems about the same. Lizzie Duncan called up to talk to me awhile. Wednesday February 26th 1919 a neighbor came out and put the clothes on the line for Vene. She feels mush better. I did not hear from home today. I feel so low spirited and lonesome. Thursday February 27th 1919 Edith had to go to Pekin today as witness in a case. I got the book Will was reading when he died and read aloud to Vene and Lydia most of the afternoon. Friday February 28th 1919 I had a lot of delayed mail today. Mary after being some better was much worse yesterday. a stormy day. There were neighbors in calling all afternoon. Mrs Rumley died very suddenly Monday night.
