Friday March 7th 1919 Laura did not have school on account of a basket-ball meet here. She was up town part of the time. I wrote Hattie and read a little. a letter from Fannie. Saturday March 8th 1919 Did not get up till nearly noon. Sophie Woolf here in afternoon to tell us about Mary's funeral. Edith went up town in the afternoon and Laura in the evening. I[t] was snowing. Sunday March 9th 1919 A lot of snow on the ground but melted rapidly. Laura went to church in forenoon and both girls in afternoon. I wrote to Arch Stinson and Hattie. Monday March 10th 1919 I did not get up till nearly noon. Worked on my pillow cases. It is three months today since Will died. I had a good letter from Hattie. The folks had company in the eve. Tuesday March 11th 1919 Vene put out the clothes she washed yesterday. I finished my pillow cases. wrote Hattie and took it to the depot to mail. The folks had company again tonight. Wednesday March 12th 1919 I ironed a few things of my own in forenoon and packed my suit cases in afternoon. A year ago today Will and I took a ride over to The Mountains with Arch and Belle Stinson. It was very warm, and three months today since Will was buried. The last year has been one of suffering and grief.
