Sunday May 18th 1919 Hattie went to church. Birdie and I down to Otts where we all had dinner. I rode to town with Rob and he left us at the Cemetery. I spent two hours there. walked from car line. was very tired slept awhile. Hattie & Birdie to concert at S U I . wrote Lizzie Duncan. Monday May 19th 1910 It was raining in the AM. I sent Wills brushes to Charles Duncan for graduating present. Birdie went to Cedar Rapids. Paul Helmich back again with his old room. Tuesday May 20th 1919 Did some work about my room. was down to Fannies in PM. Wrote Lydia after supper. Wednesday May 21st 1919 I went up to Coralville at 9:15. It rained all the afternoon. I looked over things and brought some with me. I went over to Jones to telephone. came home at 5:39. Hattie had supper ready. Thursday May 22nd 1919 I was busy most of the day. washed some things. Hattie in town in PM. I down to Fannies. I ripped a dress apart. Hattie rented the east room to Dr Allen who has work at the hospital. a letter from Nellie. I wrote to Ida. Friday May 23rd 1919 I ironed my things and began sewing on my dress. I worked at it all day. was down to Otts after supper. The Whetstones took supper and went to Cedar Rapids for Birdie. Terrible explosion of starch works last night and letter from Lydia. Saturday May 24th 1919 a letter from Lizzie Lindley. Scott & Effie both sick. poor Lizzie. I sewed all day. The girls were to town in afternoon. Fannie took a short ride. was down there jist before supper. Paul went hone for the week end. LeGrand 's birthday. We were all here last year. Will & I stayed all night. I am so sad tonight. Will needs me.
