Wednesday August 27th 1919 I put in the forenoon fixing up Mothers bed room. Floyd brought Edith home. Hattie had The Mardoff and Hughes girls here for supper. I was down to Fannies in afternoon. Letter from Lizzie Lindley. Thursday August 28th 1919 Edith and I walked to town. I looked at a stove The Gibbs have for sale. We went to the cemetery and out to Aunt Emmas to see Aunt Sarah. Edith stayed there. I was at Dr Smiths office. walked home. Bertha went to Chicago this AM. Joe & Hattie went to the train with her. Hattie and Cora to an afternoon party. I sewed some spent the evening with Fannie. Friday August 29th 1919 I washed some in the forenoon. Edith did not come back last night. Ott home in the night. I have not felt very well since Thursday but am getting my things ready to go to Delavan with the Woolfs tomorrow. They got back from Des Moines last night. Saturday August 30th 1919 Left home about 8 AM with Frank Woolf and wife and Edith Mason. Had dinner in Galesburg and stopped at Peoria from 5 to day, reached Venes at 7. Had supper and spent the evening visiting. I stood and enjoyed the trip better then I expected. Sunday August 31st 1919. Laura has hay fever. Did not go to church. Edith did and to cemetery in afternoon. I slept some and wrote Hattie before supper. Monday September 1st 1919 Eight years since Mother died and now Will sleeps beside her. I am not well today. The folks busy with their work. Laura and Edith to Peoria at 4:45 to attend Institute. Frank Woolf called in evening.
