Sunday October 5th 1919 It was a sad day. Hattie away at different things most of the day. I wrote Lydia a long letter. Late in the afternoon went out to Hedges. Ott & Fannie here in the evening. Rob worked today. Monday October 6th 1919 Hattie and I pared apples to dry in forenoon and I put up some tomatoes and apple juice. She was away with Fannie in afternoon. I worked till supper time. I feel so sad and lonely. went to bed early. Tuesday October 7th 1919 We did a big washing in forenoon. We took a ride soon after dinner with Fannie & William. Hattie did some ironing. Ott & Fannie here jist at supper time to talk to Hattie about selling more ground to the State. evening at home. fine day. Wednesday October 8th 1919 Cora drove The Chandler to Cedar Rapids and Hattie, Fannie, and I went along. I did some ironing before we went. We all made some purchases. Got home at six oclock. Mollie was here and we went over to The Dormitory for supper. I was down at Otts after that. It was a year today since Will went home with Vene and The Woolfs. If I only had him with me again, if only for a day. Thursday October 9th 1919 I worked out in the yard and garage awhile. Then we girls were up in the garret awhile. a card from Lydia. I went to town with Rob. Stopped to see Mr Gorvosky about the marker for Wills grave. Paid bill at Stillwells. Went out to Aunt Emmas. Later to the Cemetery. I walked home from town. The folks had eaten supper. I ate mine. Hattie and I peeled apples. Eli Hill dropped dead today.
