Friday October 10th 1919 I put the apples to dry and watched them. Did a lot of sewing in afternoon. Hattie away in afternoon. It is quite cold. We got some plants and the tomatoes in today. It is ten months today since I looked on Wills living face in the morning and heard his voice. Saturday October 11th 1919 I was going to sew on my blue dress when Art Jones called to say there was a man out there to get the old iron &c. William took me out Mr Davis paid me ten dollars on the coal bin. I come home at 1:24. Hattie was ready to got to town. I did some sewing and looked after two boys cutting kindling. Sunday October 12th 1919 Hattie went with Otts folks to Marshalltown in the car. I wrote to Birdie, Lizzie Lindley, Lizzie Duncan, Joe Woolf, and Lydia. I ate both dinner and supper alone. It is ten months today since we took Will away. I went to the cemetery in afternoon. Monday October 13th 1919 Hattie and I washed in forenoon. Cora took she and Fannie to Mrs Swishers to spend the day. Then came and got dinner for us. I did up the work and sewed some. I got up very late. letter from [Alillee?] Byington. Tuesday October 14th 1919 I tired to fix my blue dress but could do nothing with it and in afternoon took it to Mrs Tanner. Hattie went to the station to meet Birdie and Cal Eggleston who are delegates to The Kings daughters convention. They all went to a banquet at The Barchley. Not home till late bed-time. I got my supper and sewed in evening. The Lights were out as well as the gas [covered?] by a [stick?]. But we got them later.
