Monday October 20th 1919 Mrs Swisher and Fannie here till early afternoon working on their quilts like Hatties. I made some pickles in the forenoon and sewed on my black & white silk what spare time I had. It rained a little early in afternoon. Hattie & Fannie to club meeting. Tuesday October 21st 1919 I sewed what spare time I had during the day. The girls to a party in afternoon. Ott & Fannie up in evening. Wednesday October 22nd 1919 The Whetstones & Fannie took an early start for a drive to Dubuque. I did up the morning work and started to rip up my green dress. Went to town about one oclock. Stopped at Mrs Tanners to have dress fitted. Brought it home when I came. I was at Dr Clevelands for treatment and to Dr Ned Smith to have glasses fitted. went to the cemetery. Mr Gavorsky has the marker at Wills grave. I brought my hat home too. Thursday October 23rd 1919 [deleted text?: Hattie & Fannie went to Swishers for the day]. I sewed all day finishing the dress I brought home yesterday. Hattie working at a comfort. But was to a concert in afternoon and prayer meeting in evening. Friday October 24th 1919 The girls over to Mrs Swishes for the day and after supper went to call at Dr Hazards. Mrs Hazard died early this morning. I began to make over my green dress. I had dinner with Rob & Cora. I had a good long letter from Lydia. Sent her a paper and card.
