Friday November 28th 1919 It was a misty fogy day. It was late when we got up. Robert went in town for Richard who staid in last night. We visited, read, and did fancy work. Saturday November 29th 1919 It rained most of the night and stormed most of the day. Toward evening turned colder with with a strong wind. Robert took Vene and Mabel in for the 12:35 train. Martie went with them. I decided not to go it was so stormy. I wrote Hattie in the morning. Spent the evening visiting. The boys away for the night. Sunday November 30th 1919 It was a cold day. But not a long one. Richard brought a friend out to dinner. I read some and talked with the folks. Monday December 1st 1919 This is Bro Otts birthday. 60 years old. The folks brought me in for the noon train. I had a nice trip home. got my dinner on the train. walked from the depot here. I found a letter from Ott, Hattie Rob Ella Nagle Millie Byington, Sue Reed. They were very interesting. I put my things away and visited with Vene and Lydia. The girls went to "Eastern Star." We had a party at Otts a year ago tonight. Tuesday December 2nd 1919 It is very cold today. Vene busy with the work and keeping fires. The man brought the last of her wood. Mr Parsons was here and reports a bad time in Lincoln for lack of coal. I wrote Hattie in afternoon and took it with mail for Lydia up to the 4:45 train. I had a letter from Warner McCall.
