Tuesday December 23rd 1919 Still frosty and beautiful. I was sewing part of the day and wrote a letter to Ida sending Betty a dollar for Christmas. I had a letter from her today. about the middle of the afternoon I had a long distance phone call from Mr Haskins. He had been sick was the reason he had not been. It gave me an awful start. I though them might be trouble at home. I made talking in the evening. Wednesday December 24th 1919 I was still at work today on my waist. Vene and Laura busy with the home affairs. Laura had a lot to do with getting things in order up at the hall where there was a ball game and party last night. Mr Haskins came about three oclock to take me to the cemetery. The work was done and I paid him for it. I wrote Hattie today. It was 47 years tonight since Wills Mother dies as suddenly as he did. and now there is a monument and marker on the lot. Thursday December 25th 1919 Christmas day again and no Will to be with me either here or any place. Harry and Maybel surprised the folks this morning. I found them eating breakfast when I came down stairs. The day was spent in visiting, looking over mail &c. I took a walk after late dinner and went to Lizzie Duncans. She had company. Harry went home tonight.
