Wednesday August 30 1911 There were short prayer service for Mr [Bremer?] this am and the family all but Fannie who was sick went to [Marshall?] town with him. We hurried back to Mother who still is asleep since yesterday. Ida came back this afternoon. Thursday August 31 1911 The day was spent in watching beside Mother. The Dr dressed her foot this morning but she did not know of it. Will was down all afternoon and came back to stay all night Fannie sick in bed all day. Oh the grief! the grief! Friday September 1st 1911 Ott, Rob, Cora, Marjorie [Hartsock?] and Will were with us all last night and by times we watched beside Mothers bed Not one of us undressed. Will went home at 5.10 but came back as soon as he had breakfast. and again we took our places around Mothers bed. at one oclock she breathed her last. How can we live with-out her and how she suffered. Saturday September 2 1911 We dressed Mother this morning and laid her on a couch in the front bed-room she looked so nice. I sat beside her all the time I could. There were callers and arrangements being made. Harry & Nellie and Birdie came. Will back for the evening.
