Saturday August 1st 1914 Will & Edith went down in forenoon. I was busy with the work. We both slept in afternoon. We went to town together at 7:15. Edith went out to Will Andersons of an errand. I got my new hat and came home without her. She came later. Will & I sat on the porch to talk till she came. Sunday August 2nd 1914 I was busy with the work all forenoon. Edith was doing her packing. Rob & Cora were out for a call and Otts folks for dinner. about four oclock they took us for an Auto ride. we stopped at home and Edith went down to Woolfs for supper but did not stay to Chautauqua which began today. We spent the evening visiting and went to bed early. Monday August 3rd 1914 We were up early and Will took Ediths trunk down in the little waggon and I went with her in the car. The train was on time. I got home at 8:40. When Will came he had a chicken coop on the waggon. I felt badly all day. Went down at 5:15 to get some medicine. Wrote Lizzie Lindley at the drug store. I heard that Thomas Swisher had been killed in an Auto accident near Rockford Ill. I came back to Chautauqua grounds with Will. I met him in town with the horse. We had taken a man to the west farm to see about the well. I got some supper on the grounds and attended the programme which was very good. came home at 9:30.
