Sunday September 6th 1914 There was a terrible storm with heavy rain fall last night. we got up late. I read some in forenoon. I slept in afternoon and Vene & I went late in the day to see Rachel Hess. We found her very sick. Sat on the porch in eve. Monday September 7th 1914 The weather as such that Vene put her clothes to soak I sewed in the morning and Vene Will & I looked over old pictures in afternoon. Edith had a half days school. I wrote Cora. Tuesday September 8th 1914 I was about home all forenoon. Will went to the cemetery in afternoon. I went up town about three. Stopped at depot to find out about trains and got my glasses. I went down to Mattie Duncans for a call. She was alone. Got home in time for supper. Will was already here. made tatting in evening. Wednesday September 9th 1914 Vene did her own washing today. I was busy with various things. Had a letter from Hattie in the evening. I was up town late in the afternoon. I went down to Matties. I found my bead there that Lizzie Lindley gave me. I thought they were lost. Will walked home with me. Thursday September 10th 1914 It was an unpleasant day. I did my ironing and wrote Ott more about renting the farm and in the afternoon I made me a traveling cape. We spent the evening visiting. Will up town a little while.
