Tuesday September 22nd 1914 I was busy with my work all forenoon. Wrote home. a letter from Ott says Leonard will not take the farm. I was down town in afternoon and spent the eve with Jane. We found I had packed Ediths rain coat instead of Wills so I sent that to her. A hard rain last night. Letter from Lydia. Wednesday September 23rd 1914 I washed out a few pieces on my little board. wrote some cards. had a letter from both Hattie & Cora. I spent all the afternoon down town in the stores with Mrs Phillips. Will out to the fair ground. With folks in eve. Thursday September 24th 1914 Did a little ironing in the morning and spent the afternoon with Jane. I wrote Lydia and Hattie. We talked with Mr & Mrs Phillips on their porch all evening. Friday September 25th 1914 I was busy about my work all forenoon and took my fancy work over to Janes in afternoon. Arts family went to the fair. he did not feel well. Will with Art most of the day. We all spent the evening at Janes. A month away from home. Saturday September 26th 1914 I ironed some in the morning. Did some errands at the store. I read the papers and did fancy work till about three oclock. I went over to Janes and helped her a little with her ironing. Will took a long ride in the country with Art McCallister. Our supper was late but we went over to Janes awhile. weather fine.
