Wednesday April 14th 1915 I was here at home all day. I did a little fancy work and visited with the folks. a pleasant spring day. Thursday April 15th 1915 I packed up our things to come away. jist before we left a phone message from Pekin said Stella had a girl baby. Frank Woolf came to take us to the depot and was going to give us a good ride in afternoon. While we waited in Peoria we went up town to look for me a silk coat but did not find any thing. We reached Burlington in time for supper. Spent the evening visiting with Birdie. We had a pleasant days journey. Friday April 16th 1915 I had a letter from Httie this morning. I wrote some letters and in the afternoon Will went with me and I bought a nice silk cloak at Schramms for $25.00. They we went for a car ride. Mr & Mrs Shultz spent the evening with us. Saturday April 17th 1915 I walked over to call on the Forney girls in the forenoon. I packed up our things after dinner and at 3:30 we started in a boat "The Black Hawk" for Davenport. The boat tied up port of the night at Muscatine. We enjoyed going on the river. Sunday April 18th 1915 We reached Davenport at 10:30 and went to the Depot where we had to wait till 2:15 for a train. Rob & Cora were at the depot when we came in. We got on the 4:30 car. Got some things from the store & Mrs Jones to have supper. I unpacked our things and read the paper in the evening. We surely had a pleasant ten days visit and trip.
