Thursday April 11 1907 Will went back to Cedar Rapids. I had bread baking and washing on hands. Billy helped a little with the washing and went to finish the [stalks?]. It was one oclock when he came to dinner. I went down home in the buggy, stopped at Woolfs. I took Hattie to town and then drove on home. The wind blew up cold at dark. Will did not get home till 7.37. I had the chickens in the afternoon Friday April 12 1907 I never saw so cold and windy a day for this time of year. Will went back to Cedar Rapids at 6.20. I had a hard day with the chickens in their boxes in the house and a basket of pigs to feed. The kitchen stove smoked and with ironing and churning I was worn out. Will did not expect to come home tonight. Saturday April 13 1907 Weather cold but the sun shone and the wind not quite so strong. I put the chickens out and was out where Billy was trying to look after the pigs some. I went down home in the 1.37 car and stayed till four. I got a few things and came on home. Will home on the next car down. I did evening work and went to bed tired to death at nine oclock.
