Thursday January 16 1908 I was at home all day busy with the regular work and sewing on my dress. made tatting in the evening. Friday January 17 1908 I did bread baking and churning in the forenoon. When dinner was over I found Aunt Ellen & Lib Stevens were down home so I went down. There was an accident on the [illegible]so Will came for me after supper. We stopped at Woolfs on the way home. A car had jumped the track and rolled down a steep bank. John Stevens was in the car. no one was seriously hurt. Ott was in Cedar Rapids and ran to catch the car but they would not wait for him. He got home at 8.10 by way of Elmira and John Stevens and others came over to [Tiffen?] and to Iowa City at 9.45. Saturday January 18 1908 My house work was not so urgent today so by sewing till late bed-time I finished my blue calico dress. Will took two hogs to North Liberty this morning and in the afternoon went to town. He sold the black horse "John" for $200.00 jist at supper time. Fannie is not well and her girl went home sick.
