Sunday May 16th 1909 I got my work done early and wrote to Lydia before church time. I went over home to dinner. Will came down we had a good visit and walked over to [Wolfs?] for a call before coming home. We did the evening work and went to bed early. Monday May 17th 1909 We were up early Will had to go to town for lumber. I did the washing alone. I took tacks out of carpets in afternoon Will and I plowed the garden just before supper and after eve had that planted two rows of sweet corn across the potato patch. The men began work on the front porch today. Tuesday May 18th 1909 I did not have so much kitchen work to do this morning but I could help Will put in garden. Some after dinner I went over to [Romes?] for strawberry plants and got them all put out by five oclock. Will doing painting on porch. Wednesday May 19th 1909. I went to town at 9.12 After doing some errands I went to look at Charlie Neeley who was brought here from Chicago to be buried in the family lot I could not stay for the funeral I rested in the afternoon and did some mending. The men got the porch ready for the tin roof today. I have a lot of little chickens out and takes lots of time to care for them. a letter from Lydia
