Thursday May 20th 1909 I had a very busy day with getting the chickens out in their coops and putting things away about the house and taking up carpets. I cleaned the floors of the parlor and both bed rooms up stairs. Will busy hauling sand. The man was here all day doing the tin work and the men all at work on the porch. I feel this has been a hard work day. Friday May 21st 1909 I ironed and dressed a chicken and did the regular work before Mother and Cora came up for their butter and eggs They did not stay to dinner, I put in the afternoon with the chickens and putting things away in the house Will hauled more sand and did a lot of painting. The porch nearly done. I wrote a note and sent a tatting handerchief to Pauline [Surikes?] and papers to J.J. [Heeburn?] about Charlie Neeley Saturday May 22nd 1909 Will went to town for lumber. The men began work on the west side of the house got in foundation and took our windows and the siding to put on the new part. I was [helpfully?] getting things put out of the way. Will went to town in the afternoon. I took the tacks out of the carpets in dining and sitting rooms and after supper cleaned the floors. It was nine oclock when my work was done. Very tired.
