Friday June 24th 1909 Another heavy rain last night. I sent the folks things in this morning by Buddy Jones. The cars did not run till nearly ten oclock. Will went to town in afternoon. The painters did not get out today, I cleaned the paper of the new closet up stairs and when Will came he took the paper from the closet in the little room. It was frightfully hot I wrote to Lydia after dinner telling her of the party for July 8th. Saturday June 26th 1909 I churned early and Will helped me do a big washing. The men were here painting again today Will went to town awhile in afternoon. We together picked cherries enough that I put up 6 qts. There was a strong wind blew up at 6 oclock with some rain later on. It was a very hot day. I went to bed early utterly worn out. Rob started to [Miancapole?] tonight for Cora. Sunday June 27th 1909 We both of us worked till the middle of the afternoon I picked up things about the house and baked bread. Will and I together got the rest of the cherries away from the birds Will was helping Art Jones with a sick horse. I read and wrote in the afternoon. I put up the rest of the cherries when I got the supper. 11 qts in all. We sat on the porch awhile and went to bed early.
