Saturday July 17th 1909 I got my work done early to go down to see Mrs Conklin about my serving work Rob and Cora were out early for their butter & eggs The furnace man came out to do a little more work and get things left here. The paper hanger finished at the same time and he took all the things back to town so Will did not have to go. I rested a little after dinner and then fixed and put down the old dining room carpet in the hall and little room up stairs. We felt it a good wind up for the weeks work. We are both pretty well tired out. Sunday July 18th 1909 I had some baking to do for we got through yesterday with what we had. Will helped me clear some things out off the shed as the men are coming to fix that tomorrow. I rested after dinner and read and wrote some. Hattie came out at supper time for an hour. We walked to the depot with her. Monday July 19th 1909 I washed this morning and Will helped me wash the carpet that had been in our rooms The men began work on the summer kitchen in the afternoon. Will was in the field [shecking?] grain that Charlie [Rieland?] was cutting for him. I put in all afternoon baking and bringing things from the garret.
