Tuesday August 10th 1909 We started about the middle of the forenoon for a ride down the country. The crops were fine to look at and we spent a pleasant day coming back about 5 oclock to find [Girta?] had a good supper ready for us. I wish we owned a farm out here. The evening was spent with company on the porch. Wednesday August 11th 1909 We were home most of the day. Mattie and I were down to the depot in the morning to see about sleeper. It rained some in the afternoon. Mr Phillips who used to preach in the Baptist church in Iowa City called in the afternoon and Art McConnell in evening Thursday August 12th 1909 Mary was not well today. She had a doctor in the morning Lucy and Mary Fletcher came from California so we had some visit with them. Mary was able to be up by supper time and we started for Centralia at 10.30 a lot of them went Friday August 13th 1909 We were at Pocatella at day-light and rode all day around [Bonner?] County It was very warm and dirty and as the car was crowded we got very tired. We find it very hard to have an upper berth. We began to see [Batts?] County after we crossed the mountains late in afternoon
