Saturday July 9th 1904 I did some baking and other work this forenoon. Will went to town in afternoon but I was too tired. I rested awhile and read and knit a little. Bob & Mrs Vaughn finished putting a new shingle roof on the main part of the hay barn at noon. I talk with the folks often. Sunday July 10th 1904 Will and Virgel went up to the pasture this forenoon. I read a little and was busy with the work. I slept and read in afternoon. Did evening work and went to bed early. Monday July 11th 1904 I was busy most of the day with the regular work. It rained about noon. Will cut hay in the afternoon and Virgel plowed corn. I got a check for Mr Whitsons board today and the pictures of May and her family. Tuesday July 12th 1904 I had churning and the dinner kept me busy till noon. Mother and Lorie were out for dinner. Virgel got a dispatch his Father was dead and started for home at once. I went down town for some things needed. I called at Mygatts. I worked till late with my evening work. Virgel finished plowing the corn not a half hour before \he was called home. Will is cutting hay.
