Monday November 7th 1904 I packed up my things and left Delavan at 10:30 for Burlington. I saw Sallie Seeley while waiting in Peoria. I was a little late getting to Burlington as there was trouble with shutting the draw to the bridge after a boat had passed. I had some visit with the folks before bed-time. Tuesday November 8th 1904 "Election day." very quiet. I was up to Mrs Shultz in the forenoon. spent the afternoon visiting with Bird and putting beads on Mary Woolfs chatelaine. talked with the girls all the evening. weather still pleasant. Wednesday November 9th 1904 It was cloudy and drizzling rain. I started home at 9:30. I got to Iowa City in time for the one oclock car to Coralville. I got some thing to eat. Will churned for me and I did a little cooking. We spent the evening talking over my visit. telephoned home. Thursday November 10th 1904 weather nice again. I baked bread, worked butter, and got dinner in forenoon and in afternoon swept and dusted the house up a little. I read all evening.
