Tuesday January 24th 1905 It was a frightful day. The cold was intense with a strong wind. Will was about the house most of the time keeping the fires. Walter worked at the barn in forenoon and afternoon put some potatoes in sacks in cellar. I finished Mothers dress. read in evening. Wednesday January 25th 1904 Still very cold though not so windy. I had to do some baking this morning. The boys worked about the place. I did some mending in the afternoon and read in evening. Thursday January 26th 1905 Very cold yet. I am doing sewing when not busy with the work. The boys are busy about the place. I sent letter to Hattie tonight by Walter when he went to meeting. I read most of the evening. Friday January 27th 1905 weather better. I had an easier time with the work. was down to the store of an errand. Walter began hauling the wood home from the Danver timber that he had cut. We had dinner early. I went as far as home with Will. He went to town. I took Mothers dress home. I did evening work and read till bed-time. Saturday January 28th 1905 My work went rather slow this morning. My hands are so sore and Sarah was sick last night and kept me awake. I went down to Woolfs for the afternoon. Will went to town. Walter hauled wood again. I read all evening. Otts folks got home from Marengo where they had been for a month.
