4th Wednesday January 7th 1874 A pleasant day I did nothing but help with the work practice a little as I had time I was not feeling quite well. Thursday January 8th 1874 This was Grandpa's birthday. He was seventy five years old today. All went to a party given by him to celebrate the occasion. But me I stayed home and kept house. Charlie came home today He had been to Delavan instead of Chicago. As soon as he came he started of down the valley to the party. It took me most all the time to do the work as it was late before they got started away, and I had to pick up and put away things they had scattered around. It was a pleasant day and they all came back delighted with the pleasant time they had, had. It was a lovely winter day and the sleighing is quite good. Five years ago today Grandpa had a birthday party. I was there that day.
