6th calls did some shopping and got home before night. In the evening we had a troupe meeting here. And as soon as that was disposed of Owen and I went to the sleight-of-hand performance. Grandma and Grandpa were here all night. Tuesday January 18th 1874 It took all day to do the work. As we did considerable baking today. Mother went to town this afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa they went home today Charlie went to the valley to stay all night. The weather is very much colder. I wrote all the evening. Wednesday January 14th 1874 An intensely cold day. Charlie came home from the valley at noon nearly froze. We did nothing but the house work today. I had a letter from Bertie Croninger and Mother received one from Father. I read and played cards in the evening.
