23rd Sunday February 22nd 1874 A snowy day I read all the spare time I had. We had turkey for dinner. Jeff McCollister was here and Lee went home with him. Owen called in the evening. Monday February 23rd 1874 A fearful cold day. I was sewing all the time I had aside from doing the house-work as this is my week to help about it. Just before night Charlie and John Anderson came they both staid all night. I read in the evening. Tuesday February 24th 1874 Charlie started away this morning he would not say where he was going. John Anderson went to the depot with him. I went to town before dinner did a little shopping. After helping get the dinner and wash the dishes I sewed a little in the afternoon. left my Erings to be fixed. Read in the evening. Weather very cold. The thermometer thirteen degrees below zero
