46th Wednesday April 22nd 1874 I got the ironing and mending all done before dinner and the clothes all put away. After dinner Mother and Winnie took a ride out to the west neighborhood and did not get home till I had supper ready. I had put in the afternoon cleaning up the house and sewing a little. As soon as we had eaten our suppers Winnie and I got into the buggy and drove over to town did ever so much shopping. When we drove up to the Panic store Will was just coming down from supper and he would get in and drive us back up to the house to see his wife We made a short but very pleasant call. It was after dark when we got home and as it blowed up very cold just before night we were nearly frozen. I did intend sewing in the evening but Father wanted to play whist. so Winnie and I played. Father and Winnie beat Owen and I. I did not go to bed very early tonight.
