nearly all the time they were gone. After supper Winnie and I got ready to go to a party at Mrs Robins. Bob went with us. We enjoyed ourselves very well. But came home rather early. Friday May 8th 1874. I did not feel very much like work today But got the house pretty well cleaned up Winnie went after Hattie. They got home just as we were through super We played whist all the evening. Saturday May 9th 1874 I did the work today. Hattie helped me about the baking while Mother and Winnie went to town in the buggy. After supper I went down town I was not gone very long. As I came back I met Hattie and Winnie going over. When I came home Owen and I sat in the parlor and talked all the evening But the rest of the folks played whist in the sitting room a pleasanter day than yesterday
