57th up the beds by noon. In the afternoon Mother and Winnie went to town in the buggy. I got the other rooms up stairs nearly cleaned. After Mother came home she helped me finish it before supper. We played a couple of games of whist in the evening. Father and Winnie beat. Owen and I talked awhile out in the kitchen. Saturday May 16th 1874. As soon as I had eaten my breakfast this morning I walked over to town and selected a pair of bedsteads for the east room up stairs and got some notions. was not gone an hour. Father went over and got the bedsteads and we put them up before dinner, and took the bed from Owen's room to the west room up stairs. I took every thing out of his room. got it cleaned and part of them back before dinner. after dinner I finished that and did a large washing. Owen was not home to dinner and Mr Sargent came home with him & stayed all night After supper we played cards. It was quite late before we went to bed.
