81st Tuesday June 30th 1874. Mother, Father, and Lee started real early this morning to go in the country after cherries. I finished my buff suit this morning. Owen was not home to dinner. But came about two oclock. The Law Class graduated this forenoon and he recieved his Diploma On this, his 21st birthday. Well done Owen! say I. He finished packing his things. And by the time they got home with the team at five oclock. His trunk was ready to go to the depot. Him and Rob took it over before supper. As soon as we had eaten supper He bid the folks good-by, and I walked down town with him. He will start in the morning at four. I did some shopping and for one thing got me a beautiful light calico wrapper. It was nearly dark before I got home. I helped the girls pick over cherries about an hour and then went to bed. Wednesday July 1st 1874. Us girls did an awful washing this forenoon In the afternoon Mother and I put up fourteen
