Sunday May 7th 1905 I was an unpleasant day I kept fire and spent the day in the house reading and writing when not busy with the work. The boys about home most of the day. My chickens are so much care. Will is 57 years old today. Monday May 8th 1905 I had a very busy forenoon doing baking, getting dinner, and getting things out of the kitchen for the men to plaster in the afternoon. Will began to plant corn. I went to town for some turkey eggs left for me. Came back on the same car. The men finished plastering at 6.30. It was late when we had supper. Tuesday May 9th 1905 It rained most of the day. The boys shelled seed corn and did some work. I worked all day cleaning the wood-work and windows to the kitchen. This is Hatties birthday she is 48 years. Wednesday May 10th 1905 Will went to town this morning, came back at ten, and put in the screens up stairs. I did some work in the south room in morning and cleared the little room after noon. Took up stair carpet . Thursday May 11th 1905 I was busy in kitchen all forenoon. The boys took things out of the sitting & dining room after dinner. I cleaned both floors, washed windows and wood work. There was a terrible hard rain. We heard tonight that John McCallisters place wrecked with cyclone. no one hurt.
