Friday July 14th 1905 weather better. I worked all day swept the house all over, cleaned the cellar, and put my fruit away. It came out terribly hot after the storm. The boys worked some in the hay. Saturday July 15th 1905 I worked all forenoon getting the dinner. The Baldwin boys were here cutting oats. I went down home in afternoon and on to town. Dorothy went home and Clara with her for a few days visit. I was at John Stevens awhile. I brought Mother home from there. Anna Denton and daughter came today. Sunday July 16th 1905 I have taken cold and passed a bad night. I took a ride this morning was at Mrs Whedons, Mr Robinson, Mrs Simpsons, and at home. I got back to get Will and I some dinner. Slept in the afternoon and talked with Will all evening. It has been an intensely hot day. I read a little. Monday July 17th 1905 Willie helped me some with a big washing. I got it out and dinner for the men and I dont know how I ever did it. Word came at nine oclock there was trouble at Earnest Donners. Will went up. A man named Jones had shot his wife who was there and Earnest both it is feared fatally, and they are at the hospital. I wrote to Marys and down home. Earnest is very badly hurt.
